Brian Shaw or Jeff Van Gundy?

From Marc Stein:

The persistent word out of Lakerland is that Phil Jackson, at 65, is serious when he says that this will be his last season coaching Kobe Bryant. Far trickier is figuring out who sits at the front of the line to replace him.

I really hope the Lakers don’t go after Jeff Van Gundy. He knows how to win but I don’t know if he can handle this team. I’m sure Kobe would be more comfortable with someone who has been on the staff for a couple of years.

Brian Shaw is the guy for the Lakers. He’s learned a lot from being Phil Jackson’s sidekick. He already has the respect from current players and the playbook wouldn’t have to change.
