>My Updated All Star Ballot

>

Voting for the 2011 MLB All-Star Game Starters ends tomorrow night at 11:59 pm EST. {Vote Here}

They will announce the starters and reserves on July 3rd.

On April 26th, I filled out my first All-Star ballot online. Two months can make a big difference especially for the Boston Redsox, who started their season 2-10.

I have a total of five changes for the American League starting lineup. With the Redsox having one of the best records in the MLB, they deserve a couple of starters in the Summer Classic.
C: Russell Martin to Alex Avila
1B: Miguel Cabrera to Adrian Gonzalez
OF: Jeff Francour to Jacoby Ellsbury
OF: Carlos Quentin to Curtis Granderson
DH: Travis Hafner to David Ortiz
For the National League starting lineup I also made five changes. Buster Posey went down with an injury and now is out for the season but at the same time Brian McCann has been hitting a lot better. It’s great seeing Jose Reyes having another outstanding season.
C: Buster Posey (Injury) to Brian McCann
1B: Joey Votto to Prince Fielder
SS: Troy Tulowitzki to Jose Reyes
3B: Pablo Sandoval to Placido Polanco
OF: Andre Ethier to Lance Berkman

American League:
C – Russell Martin (NYY)
1B – Miguel Cabrera (DET)
2B – Robinson Cano (NYY)
SS – Asdrubal Cabrera (CLE)
3B – Alex Rodriguez (NYY)
OF – Jose Bautista (TOR)
OF – Jeff Francour (KC)
OF – Carlos Quentin (CHI)
DH – Travis Hafner (CLE)

National League:
C – Buster Posey (SF)
1B – Joey Votto (CIN)
2B – Brandon Phillips (CIN)
SS – Troy Tulowitzki (COL)
3B – Pablo Sandoval (SF)
OF – Andre Ethier (LAD)
OF – Matt Kemp (LAD)
OF – Ryan Braun (MIL)

My Final Vote (June 29th)

American League:
C – Alex Avila (DET)

1B – Adrian Gonzalez (BOS)
2B – Robinson Cano (NYY)
SS – Asdrubal Cabrera (CLE)
3B – Alex Rodriguez(NYY)
OF – Jose Bautista (TOR)
OF – Jacoby Ellsbury (BOS)
OF – Curtis Granderson (NYY)
DH – David Ortiz (BOS)

National League:
C – Brian McCann (ATL)
1B – Prince Fielder (MIL)
2B – Brandon Phillips (CIN)
SS – Jose Reyes (NYM)
3B – Placido Polanco (PHI)
OF – Lance Berkman (STL)
OF – Ryan Braun (MIL)
OF – Matt Kemp (LAD)

Rosters will be announced during the 2011 All-Star Game Selection Show on TBS on July 3. Baseball fans around the world will then be able to select the final player on each team via the 2011 All-Star Game Final Vote Sponsored by Sprint.

I haven’t added anything to my Joe Johnson collection in a while. Within the last week, there were 4 new cards on ebay that I needed.

The first card is from 2009-10 Absolute Memorabilia. Only 10 of these were produced and I won the auction at the last minute. I have two other versions of this card that are both numbered to 25. {Image 1} {Image 2}

#/10

The next patch is a 3-color patch. It’s also my third patch from the same product. All of these are numbered to 49. You can view the other two relics {Image 1} {Image 2}

#/49

Upper Deck basketball are harder to find since Upper Deck lost their license and Panini are coming out with so many products. One seller had two cards that contained Joe Johnson on it and I was able to combine shipping for both cards. The first one is numbered to 25 and the second one is numbered to 99. Both cards consist of Josh Smith, Joe Johnson and Josh Childress. Childress is the only one that is no longer on the Atlanta Hawks.

I bought this card for only $6.50 last week. I’ve seen another one on ebay sell for around $10 so I had to buy this for my collection with a low price tag.

>Petition For Vin Scully To Call World Series

>

A couple days ago, Yahoo! had an article about a petition to have Vin Scully announce the World Series this season.

To:  Fox Corporation

Vin Scully, the greatest baseball announcer of all time has not called a World Series Game on Television since Game 5 of the 1988 World Series when his Dodgers defeated the Mighty A’s. As his career comes closer to an end, I feel that this great man and broadcaster needs to have one more chance to shine when the stage shines the brightest, The World Series. Join me in this push to have him get one more chance to crown a World Champion in the way it should always be done, with class, diginity and honor, the way he has done it for over 60 years.

Sincerely,
The Undersigned

Who knows if this will happen but it’s a great idea. Sure there’s one way this could happen and that’s if the Dodgers somehow make it to the World Series. I don’t think that will happen this year though.

As of right now there are 2650 signatures for the petition. You can sign the petition by clicking here.
